Clean Start Program

At Minnesota Disability Support Alternatives, we believe that being able to live in a clean, sanitary, and safe home environment is vital to ensuring the physical and mental health of the elderly and disabled. Market rates for cleaning services are at an all-time high, with a single deep cleaning averaging from $200-$400. Our Clean Start program provides elderly or disabled community members with a one-time free deep cleaning of their home (valued at approximately $500).

This program is available to residents of the 7-County Metropolitan Area, the City of Saint Cloud, and the following counties: Benton, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Sherburne, Wright.

If selected, recipients will be provided with a checklist of available cleaning options.* Subsequently, there will be a video consultation to determine scope and scheduling.

Currently, we randomly select one household per month. In the future, we plan on increasing our volunteer pool and attracting cleaning agencies to donate their services so that we can offer this to more households and expand the program service area.

Applications are stored and valid until the end of the calendar year. Once an application is submitted it will continue to be included in each monthly random drawing. Selected recipients that receive a free deep cleaning through Clean Start can reapply after two years. MNDSA board members, employees, volunteers, and/or their household members are ineligible to apply.
